Angela and our good friend Myra are continuing the washdown and dedusting of our new apartment in Discovery Gardens.

Yesterday was the first day we spent together at the new apartment as a family - We had dinner with friends in the evening, so enjoyed our first bath there too - As we let the water from bath we also had our first flood - seems there’s a blockage somewhere pushing the water drainage out through the drain in the bathroom floor…

Easy enough to solve: Put the plug back into the bath and call the plumber in the morning - they should be arriving around 3 this afternoon :-)

The painting is all done, and today I started on the curtain rails. Tomorrow Ang’ll do a final washdown, ready for the movers to start clearing our goodies from Sahari villiage - We’re guessing Monday night will be our last evening in Ras Al Khor, making Tuesday our first night in the new apartment.

It’s hard saying good-bye to what has been the only home Nathan and Luke have ever really known, but seasons do change and it’s with joy from our Lord that look ahead and smile …

Indeed, a time has come for the Verrips family to end one season and start another - No, this has very little to do with the 48C highs recorded in Dubai last week, but rather a change in jobs as well as a change in apartments - However we’re still very much in Dubai, and seems we’ll be here for a while still.

Last week (30th July) marked the start of our 7th Year in Dubai - More of a Jubilee than a Sabbatical though :-) and as my second three year employment visa from Hyatt expires on 15th August I’ll be starting a full-time position as “Church Administrator” for the United Christian Church of Dubai

The members vote this morning confirmed the calling, and in the next few weeks we’ll be moving to a new apartment in Jebel Ali and I officially start work on the 1st September.

Please pray with us as we call on our Lord and trust in Him who has called us, for He is faithful!

I had to return to Dubai, so missed it, but Angela uploaded these pictures of the little party they had to celebrate - Benefit is that (again) his Wuvie and Grandma are celebrating it with him.

We pray our Lord will continue to bless Luke, and richly grow His spirit within him

Luke (as you can see in the picture) is barely awake but Nathan is all joy and full of excitement.
