About
We are a Christian family living In Dubai - Currently in an apartment at Sahari Villiage, Ras al Khor, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Roy is an Information Systems Manager for the Grand Hyatt Dubai - Aside from spending time with his family he loves anything Linux if he can squeeze a few minutes a week and enjoys reading.
Angela is a teacher who works from home (i.e. is a housewife) raising and home-schooling Nathan and Luke - When the boys are asleep or if Roy is working late you’ll probably find her doing cross-stitch, reading the latest Francine Rivers novel, or watching whatever is on Animal Planet.
Nathan is almost seven, and loves to talk, sing and read. At the moment he is fully absorbed in Lego Indiana Jones and all things related. He has completed his second year of homeschooling and is doing really well (Must be ’cause he has such an excellent teacher)
Rachel was born in March 2004 with CMV (i.e. Cytomegalo Virus) - She had chronic hepitites and severe jaundice since birth that eventually lead to complete liver failure, and she went to be with our Lord in November 2004. Her constant smile touched everyone it fell upon and we are honoured that she was part of our family, even for such a short time.
Luke will be two years old next month, and he seems to love life and is adamant on living it to the full. You’ll find Angela and myself constantly running to catch, console or comfort a fall, scrape or bump, only to see him seconds later head off to try or experience something else, fearless, and giggling for joy as he runs.
We’ve lived in Dubai for more than 6 years now and are a bible believing Christian family who put God at the centre of our household. We are members at the United Christian Church of Dubai who meet at the Dubai Evangelical Church Centre in Jebel Ali on Fridays. Roy serves as Deacon of Website and related, and is involved in various other Audio/Visual ministries such as sound-desk, etc. We also together lead a Care Life Group, that meets on Monday evenings in the Jumeirah.
We pray and trust that God will continue to strengthen us in His mercy and grace, and that we may be a blessing to those He brings across our path.
Our God is an awesome and gracious God!
Yours in Him
The Verrips Family
